Everything's better with pirates: The captains monologue

Ich hab etwas überlegen müssen, ob das der richtige Ort ist den folgenden Beitrag online zu stellen, aber da Piraten einfach so unglaublich cool sind, hab ich mich dazu entschlossen ihn einfach mal zu posten. Hier also mein neustes pre-apokalyptisches Werk für meinen Schreibkurs:
(A pirate enters the stage from the right. His clothes look like they once were wealthy but now are bleached out from the salty weather on sea and spoiled by numberless gruelling encounters with enemy ships. The edges of his captains head are torn apart. On some parts of his jacket are still some blood stains from former fights. He wears an eye patch on his left eye and struggles to walk upright. But his sabre is glancing, well polished and dangerous in its scabbard attached to his belt. The pistol next to it appears not less deadly, carefully tight up with a small bag of gunpowder, a stodger and a few bullets. He hobbles over the ships deck towards the left side of the stage where the captains cabin is and sits down on a big padded chair. In front of him lie nautical charts, sextant, compass and a circle. He leans forward and studies the charts, like he did thousand times before only illuminated by a single candlestick on the table. After measuring some distances with the circle and checking the course with the compass he falls gently back in his chair.)
Captain LeChuck: Arrr. Indeed, the doomed of the sea we arr. Lost souls drifting on the endless waves of the oceans. Banished from the land were ruthless earls and dukes once oppressed us. Now we arr ruthless ourselves but instead of oppressing people we murder them. Slaughter them without hesitation. Free them from their misery. Or let the sea murder them for us if she wants. Banished from our loved ones, from our home, banished from salvation. Doomed to sail on the wide of the sea, for eternity, if she lasts that long. Hunted and hated by the rest of the world. And not without reason I might say. The sins I have seen the crimes I committed. All worth dying for. To be hanged on the remorseless gallows of Port Royal. But not without a good fight first. In our backs lurk the English caravels waiting for a moment of weakness, a mindless mistake or even just an unfortunate wind. In our fronts it is even worse. A storm is coming up a head of us as horrifying as our merciless fate, which it could seal. And I? What am I supposed to do? Responsible for my crew for these lost souls in unknown waters, not willing to give up yet, not yet. So near our goals and yet so far.
(Captain LeChuck stands up and leaves the captains cabin. He enters front deck which he passed at the beginning.)
Captain LeChuck: Crewmen. Crewmen! Scum and sea rats, robbers and thieves gather around. I want to speak to you. (pause) You fought brave. You fought despiteous and cruel. This day belongs to you as you earned it with your blood, the blood of your comrades, but even more with the blood Trinity
you spilled of your enemies. No man could hold his ground against you. No sword arm could stand in your way. Man against man did you triumph against royal soldiers and mercenaries, sailors and passengers, regardless who they were or where they did come from. I am proud of you! With rum and jewellery you will be reworded, with women and music we will celebrate this day. To live like kings in this world where no one can tell us what to do and no one will command us where to go. They can't threaten us with their laws and restrictions. With their moral and there honour. We are the renegade they can not control. The wild animal they will never catch. We leave the discipline to them, they can keep their integrity. We will be pleased with what we can drink, eat and fuck. So do not hustle and reach for the barrels. Tomorrow we'll reach for the next challenge, but today we'll drink as if there is no tomorrow.
(Captain LeChuck leaves the front deck and goes back into the captains cabin facing directly the audience.)
Captain LeChuck: Your lives were spared, but it does not mean we couldn't change that. Just because you surrendered does not mean you gone be protected by an invisible rule some contract or guideline is telling us to stick to. Indeed you will most certainly die on this ship in the next couple of hours. So make your peace with your creator and face your inevitable death. Except of course, you decide to join us. So think wisely and listen carefully because otherwise it will be the last to think of the last to hear for you. You heard my little speech to the crew yourselves. If you join us, there will be no more rules, no more false promises of honour and justice. Life is rough and wrongful. The strong take what they want and the weak will suffer. As you suffer now. But all your misery can end with this moment. All you have to do is join the stronger ones. Join us and you will be pleased with drinks, feasts and women. And even more. Passed the storm front we will cross tomorrow is a hidden island we are heading for. No one knows about it but me and my crew. The last one who knew the way to find it I killed with my own bare hands. And on this Island we will find the fountain of youth. The spring of eternal life. Our short cut from perdition of hell. So join us and live as kings in this world full of pleasure and joy. Turn away from this avenging god who binds you to righteousness, self-sacrifice. He shall look for us through heaven and hell, but he will never catch us in the wilderness of the sea. Take of this burden and feel true freedom. Decide to find your salvation in this world or the next. But beware that either parts are full of obstacles. The choice is yours.
